A lot of newspapers and news organizations are covering pseudo-events. These are things like press releases. Celebrities are arguably human pseudo-events. In this book, the argument is made that this happens because we don’t have enough events to fill the entire newspaper. And so these pseudo-events have crept in and become part of our language in understanding the world. And there is a market for these things.
